Consulting and Advisory Services

NT Boarding Program Human Resources Review

A review of the employment conditions of boarding staff, including detailed consultations with staff and management. Alternative employment and service delivery models were considered during the review and recommendations regarding staff development and practice improvement were made.

Boarding Review, Queensland

A review of the boarding program for an Indigenous boarding school in Queensland. This included all aspects of the boarding program included student wellbeing and satisfaction, professional development, governance and physical facilities assessment. Detailed recommendations for service improvement were developed.

Government Reviews and Inquiries

Boarding Australia has been a key informant to:

  • the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse (including expert panel presentation);
  • the House Standing Committee on Indigenous Affairs Inquiry into educational opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;
  • Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Study Away Review.

Recruitment and Staff Development Services

Assistance with the development of role descriptions and participation in the recruitment process, including shortlisting, interview (questions and scenarios) and recommended appointment.

Policy Review

Assistance with the development and review of policies for a new boarding program.
